I’d never cast a line for bass before, but when I stepped onto a boat at Heartland 10-10 Ranch with my buddy Mark Chiles during the BassForecast team retreat, I had no idea I’d reel in a monster that’d leave us both speechless.
I was ready to test my beginner’s luck at Beaver Pond, one of the ranch’s four pristine fishing spots.
What unfolded was a day of laughs, splashes, and an 8-pound, 10-ounce catch I’ll never forget.

The Day
It wasn’t just about the fish, though. Sharing that boat with Mark, surrounded by the stunning Heartland 10-10 Ranch, felt like the perfect break from leading Mutual Mobile.
